STUDENT VISA TIER 4 (General)

International students intending to study in the UK need to obtain a valid student visa known as Tier 4. Visa Tier 4 (General) student visa enables students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) above the age of 16 to study at a licensed Tier 4 university in the UK and stay there for as long as the course duration they are enrolled in. To obtain a student visa, it is essential for the applicant to have an offer of acceptance in a study program at a valid education provider in the UK and must be able to furnish evidence of having sufficient funds to cover personal expenses and tuition fees for the course, the amount of which depends on individual circumstances. The applicants must also provide English language competency (speaking, listening, reading & writing).

UK Universities have two major intakes, i.e., September / October and January / February. The earliest you can apply for a study visa is three months before you start your course and usually get a decision of approval on your visa within three weeks.

There are average scores required. Few universities waive the English tests and require other tests.
